The LUCET is handmade of American Poplar. Popular is a renewable wood. Each piece of poplar may vary from cream color to green - with swirls and mixtures in between. This lucet has a tint of green and an interesting grain pattern.

I cut, shape, carve, and finish the wood to create the Lucet based on a two hundred plus year old design. The lucet has been finished with a hard, hand-rubbed, natural oil finish that brings out the luster of the wood.

In addition to hobby use, this lucet is historically accurate and is appropriate and correct for living history interpreters, reenactors, and SCA members. It is appropriate from the Renaissance through the American Civil War. Historically, the lucet was brought from Europe to America's first settlements in the 17th Century.
