Remember the movie "National Treasure" with Nicholas Cage? One of the clues to the treasure was "the key to unlock the treasured past"? Well that line keeps running through my head when I look at this piece.It started out life as old watch gears and parts and a tiny brass key. I suspended them in resin, with a paper backing in the colors of the sea. It was a little plain so I surrounded it with a tarnish-resistant hammered silver ring. But it still looked a little lonely to me so I added the two round filigree beads (one silver, one gunmetal). All of this is suspended from a dusty blue suede cord, finished with a toggle clasp.
