<br />This selection of wonderfully detailed pendants are ammonites – a long extinct group of marine creatures (taxon, subclass Ammonoidea, class Cephalopoda, phylum Mollusca). The shells have been fossilized into rock hard crystals. Through they resemble the chambered nautilus (of Jules Verne fame), their closest living relatives are probably the squid and cuttlefish species.
