I had a brainwave the other day, casting about the house for something I could use to create some interesting textures on metal. I suddenly thought of the little bag of foreign coins I keep, collected from my travels and inherited from family. I thought, certainly there must be some interesting designs on those coins I could impress into my metal sheet!
I pored over the coins, ultimately choosing a two shilling coin to create the texture on these earrings. Then after antiquing and tumble polishing, I wound little copper ball headpins onto the tips of each petal, creating little rosettes. A Swarovski crystal in "vintage rose" adorns each hand-forged earwire.
