This wall hanging is my folk art version of the Union Jack flag, made using a rag rug technique with 3" (8 cm) long pieces of fabric prodded through a hessian (burlap) background, giving a finished pile of just under 1.5" (4.5 cm).
The fabrics used include cotton (mainly), wool, silk, denim, and synthetic mixtures. The laundered fabrics are sourced from a variety of places including recycled clothing and auction/charity shop finds, possiby small quantities from craft and fabric shops etc. Some have been over-dyed.
