This 12.5 inch x 18.5 inch piece was made in a pet- and smoke-free studio. The vase is lace edged with yarn. The silk flowers are embellished with buttons and lace, thread trash (that’s the loose, tangled threads at the edge of a piece of fabric when it comes out of the dryer), bugle and seed beads, and sequins. There are also a few flowers that used to be barrettes, before I cut the clasps off. Hand- and machine-stitched, this piece was bound with a zigzag stitch and touched up with acrylic paint, and then edged with ribbon.
