Date of Birth 8-26-2010...when it exited the kiln.
Blue Bird is a mixed media ceramic vessel, approximately 13" in height. The vase is handbuilt, using the pinch and slab building techniques. The form is glazed in shades of indigo, golden earth, copper and bronze...a nice running combines the glazes and gives a feathery effect at the neck... description not to be confused the natural rooster feather embellishment of the neck. I have also incorporated natural hemp cording and wood beading to secure the great copper color feathers.
This form is one of a kind work of my sculptural/art pottery line. It has been glazed inside and may, I do mean may, hold water. I have not tested it. It is more intended to be a display piece rather than a functional work.
