Blue Butterflies 3D Original Mixed Media Painting

I love how these blue butterflies group together on tree trunks. It's just a sea of blue, turquoise and lilac. I have wanted to do a painting of these for ages.

To do these little beauties justice, I hand cut each butterfly from card. They were then painted in oils. Each one is different and unique. They are all different sizes, different tones and have different markings. Just as unique as the real thing. There are 12 butterflies altogether.
