Dala Horse Quilt for a horse lover or a new mother
<br />57 inches high by 44 inches wide
<br />
<br />100% cotton -- cotton Bali batik fabrics, cotton thread, cotton batting. cotton batik backing.
<br />
<br />The Dala Horse Quilt has 12 horses made from individually dyed batik cotton fabric. The squares with horses are separated with 9-patch designs.
<br />
<br />The backing is also cotton batik, as shown in the final photo above. There are 7 different hand-dyed fabrics used in this quilt, and 6 styles of quilting stitches done in cotton thread. The border has a continuous quilted line of hearts and the binding is attached using a vine stitch, shown in third photo.

<br />The fabrics were all washed in Ivory Snow, dried, and ironed before assembling. This is a summer-weight quilt, sewn on my Singer sewing machine. Because the batting is all cotton, this quilt will "breathe" and be comfortable even on warmer nights.
