Elaborate Kanzashi in Purple and Mauve Habotai by cuttlefishlove

Shared by CuttlefishloveKanzashi in the Wedding Crafts

Product Description:

Made from habotai silk, giving it a soft texture and deep, lustrous colour, this elaborate kanzashi measures around 7 inches in length (including falls) and is 3.5 inches at the widest point. The small flowers are 1 inch across each and the central flower is 3 inches across.

Very labour intensive to produce, each tiny petal is handfolded from squares of silk. This is my most complex silk kanzashi flower to date and is inspired by the styles of kanzashi with falls worn in Japan by geisha and maiko. This will add an oriental feel to a western outfit or will perfectly complement a kimono or yukata.

The complexity of design makes it ideal as a wedding hair accessory, and the dangles will draw attention to the face of any blushing bride! Wearing a wedding kanzashi will make the bride look truly unique.

Silks used: Deep purple, mauve, oyster and taupe (all habotai).
