A fragment of sea pottery combined with a small shell bead and a drift of smaller beads, against a distressed 'patchwork' background, form the design for this pretty and original brooch.
The well-worn sea pottery at the heart of this design features a faded blue on white design. Scraps of fabric in similar shades have been 'bonded' to a felt background by use of an embellisher machine. The fabric scarps were torn to provide distressed edges - further distressed by the embellisher. The brooch has been edged in blanket stitch using a fine cream crochet thread.
