Description
Bright red poppies are hand embroidered in the felted cornfield of this pretty bookmark.

<br />Sky blue wool fibers have been felted to a background of kunin felt (produced from recycled plastic bottles. A wide variety of yarn snippets, carefully collected from other yarn projects, have been added to represent the cornfield. Stitching in fine cotton has been added to the sky and meadows to 'stabilise' the felting. The book mark is edged in blanket stitch threads to match the areas of the design. Simple embroidery stitches have been used to add daisies, distant cornflowers and poppies. The poppies in the foreground are stitched in silk ribbon.

<br />The bookmark is backed in a second layer of kunin felt.
