Extra Large Aqua and Pale Blue Silk Waterlily by cuttlefishlove

This kanzashi is made with habotai silk, which gives it a wonderful softness and lustrous colour. The method of folding the silk squares by hand is time consuming and detailed, but gives a unique three-dimensional effect.

<br />There are pale pink stamens in the middle and it is backed with pale pink felt and a crocodile hair clip.

<br />An extra large (5 inches diameter), 32 petal flower with 4 layers of 8 petals around.

<br />Centre layer: Fuchsia silk
<br />2nd layer: 6 aqua silk petals, 2 pale blue silk petals
<br />3rd layer: 6 aqua silk petals, 2 pale blue silk petals
<br />4th layer: 6 aqua silk petals, 2 pale blue silk petals
