A 3-dimensional hand embroidered fabric wall hanging - Marion, A Portrait of a Beautiful Lady. Marion is wearing a glamorous hat in shades of blue.She is framed in an antique gold deep-rebate moulding with double matts, one of which is floating which emphasizes the 3-D effect.
The pre-printed image is accented using various techniques. For Marion, I selected curly blonde dolls hair to frame her face and create the 3rd dimension which this style of embroidery is renowned for. Her hat brim is outlined with cotton lace trimming with a navy organdie ribbon bow. Her shawl is embroidered with a beautiful fine foil that shimmers in a holographic way.
