This set is handmade from locally collected woodland branches and is made up of a random mix of woods. Each set has been decorated using the art of pyrography (the burning of symbols and words into the wood using a hot stylus) with each individual Futhark symbol (24 in total).
The 24 Runes have been sealed and polished with a natural beeswax polish. The 25th Odin (blank) rune completes the set bringing the depth of it's woody striation colouring to its true purpose.
Smooth and natural these runes are beautiful to use and wonderful to take with you anywhere you go! Futhark Runes have been used for writing, divination and magick throughout northern Europe, Scandinavia, the British Isles, and Iceland from about 100 B.C.E. Runic divination or rune casting is not fortune telling in the sense that one actually sees the future. Instead, runes give a means of analysing the path that is available and a likely outcome.
