<br />Native American inspired form.

<br />Date of birth 8-26-2010...exited the kiln.

<br />Fred's Coffee Mug is a mixed media ceramic vessel, handbuilt using the pinch and slab building methods. The open form is approximately 5" high...11" including the handle. The interior is glazed in a matte chocolate brown, the outside with a glossy speckled oatmeal, bronze and copper splatter. The handle is constructed from bamboo skewers, bundled with wood rings and a strip of natural mink fur. The handle is secured to the "mug" with jute cording, decorated with sea worm shell.

<br />This is a work from my sculptural/art pottery line and is not intended for actual use as a coffee mug or any other food/beverage use. Just a funny name for a piece...it looked like a mug when I was done embellishing it....and it reminded me of the Flintstones. That is just how my mind works...
