Description
Hand painted novelty yarn 50g lime green mid green lime green
The base yarn for this is a skein of fun novelty yarn, 40% wool, 25% acrylic, 20% polyamide and 15% lurex. The yarn is beautifully soft and squishy. It is double stranded (see photo of identical yellow yarn against 1 inch measure for accurate gauge).
I hand painted it in two stages, knowing that the different fibres would take up the dye in very different ways. For this one I blended two shades of green - lime and a darker mid shade. There is a fine white thread which is untouched by the dye. This, together with the gold lurex, offers a good contrast.
I personally see this one as an open lightweight scarf, knitted on fairly large needles, possible combined with another yarn.

1X 50g skein
Approx. 164 yards in total
