Hand painted novelty yarn 50g peach apricot
<br />The base yarn for this is a skein of fun novelty yarn, 40% wool, 25% acrylic, 20% polyamide and 15% lurex. The yarn is beautifully soft and squishy. It is double stranded (see photo against 1 inch measure for accurate gauge).
<br />I hand painted it in two stages, knowing that the different fibres would take up the dye in very different ways. The main colours are two shades of peach with a generous splash of apricot - another fruity one!. There is a fine white thread which is untouched by the dye. This, together with the gold lurex, offers a good contrast.The last picture shows the same yarn before it was reskeined to show the colour blocks.
