Hand painted yarn - merino cashmere angora.
<br />The base yarn for this is a skein of 80% merino wool, 10% cashmere and 10% angora.The yarn was commercially spun with a fairly high twist to reduce the risk of pilling but it is still soft and springy. It is approx. dk weight (see photo against 1 inch measure for accurate gauge). I hand painted it in soft greens, pinks and coral, with just a touch of lemon - Spring blossom colours. The last picture shows the yarn before reskeining to give you an idea of the colour blocks.
