Hand painted yarn, fine alpaca and silk, laceweight, soft rose pink, apricot, vanilla colours 50g by SpinningStreak The base yarn for this is a luxurious blend of brushed alpaca (77%) and mulberry silk (23%). It has produced a very fine, soft thread - perfect for warm, lightweight lacy shawls. I dyed this yarn by injecting it with several shades of pink first, then hand painting some touches of apricot blush onto the creamy vanilla sections,. The last couple of pictures give an idea of the subtle colour blocks, before the yarn was re-skeined. I would use this one on fairly large needles (5mm+) to create an open, airy fabric - see picture against a 1 inch ruler for better idea of gauge.
