Handspun beanie hat - natural dyed hand knit alpaca silk lacy olive, straw, blue
I am really pleased with this one! It is a beanie with an open, wavy, lacy design - light and delicate but really warm. I hand knitted it in an unusual mix of my handspun natural dyed longwool plied with my handspun silk in a dark blue. I alternated this with a fine commercially spun alpaca, which I also natural dyed and self-plied. The dyes I used were lichens and turmeric - a light olive green colour and a paler straw.
The hat is soft, light and stretchy - but not easy to measure because of its wavy design. It is approx.8 inches top to bottom and just over 21 inches circumference at the brim. A great choice for those who don't like to be aware of a hat on their head.
