Handspun blue black hand painted Wensleydale yarn
I hand spun this from traditional longwool Wensleydale fleece from Yorkshire UK. I then hand painted the skeins in strong dark colours, inspired by a Jay's wing feather - black, charcoal and purple with a flash of turquoise and green.
This yarn was spun from tops, so it is smooth and fairly uniform. It is self-plied. It has kept its lustre, is soft and has a slight halo.
2 skeins:
70 yards
62 yards
ie. 132 yards and fractionally under 100g in total.

This one is a little heavier than DK gauge - see picture with 1 inch marker for better idea.
