Handspun yarn, green wool, hand painted Blue Faced Leicester, silk ,green, yellow, blue
<br />A skein of luxury handspun.
<br />This one is a vivid colour with subtle shades. I handspun the yarn from rare breed Blue Faced Leicester. I mixed in some fine Bombyx silk to catch the light. The yarn is self plied ( before it was dyed, to keep the colours bright and separate) I then handpainted it in a palette of mid to pastel greens, with a generous touch of golden yellow and mid blue as highlights.
<br />The BFL has a slight halo and the high quality silk has a subtle gleam. This skein could be used as an accent yarn with another more basic yarn of similar weight - just pick out one of the colours and match it - or there is enough here for a reasonable sized project. I can see it as a hat or as a stunning pair of fingerless gloves.
