Handspun yarn, hand painted wool, Wensleydale yarn, pink, blue, pastel Sweetpea
I hand spun this from traditional longwool Wensleydale fleece from Yorkshire UK. I then hand painted the skein in delicate, pastel florals - pale blue, delicate pink, soft rose, light green, silvery lilac and aqua.
This yarn was spun from tops, so it is smooth and fairly uniform. It is self-plied. It has kept its lustre and has a slight halo. It is soft - bearing in mind that long stapled breeds are never quite as soft as merino.
1 chunky skein:
124 yards and 101 grams - so this one is a little heavier than DK gauge - see picture with 1 inch marker for better idea.
