Handspun yarn merino beads sequins midnight blue
<br />This takes a long time to produce and is currently my most expensive, unique handspun yarn.
<br />First I spun a single from some high grade merino tops. I chose a beautifully balanced blend of dark blues with lighter highlights and a little silver grey.Then I plied it with a very fine light-reflecting thread onto which I threaded sequins and small glass beads, some clear, some in shades of blue. The resulting yarn is surprising subtle. The skein is soft, lofty and evenly spun.
<br />I would use fairly large needles to turn it into short neck scarf or, of course, it could be used as an accent in combination with other (less costly!) yarns in a variety of projects. It is a very easy intoduction to knitting with beads because the beads are already threaded and attached for you.
<br />1 skein - 156 yards and approx. 58 grams.
<br />Fine spun - see photo against 1 inch ruler for a more accurate idea of gauge.
