This book is hand bound in the traditional "Daifuko Cho" or accounting book format. This style was popular during the Edo period as a book for merchants. It makes a great portable notepad or sketchbook.
The book has 30 folded pages of hand torn Kozo paper. Kozo paper is made of long fibers, which makes the paper exceptionally strong even though it is thin. The covers are made of robin's egg Lama Li Lokta paper and the top is bound with raffia.
