Japanese Chiyogami Paper Doll Satomi by umeorigami on Zibbet

Shared by umeorigami in the Paper Crafts

Product Description:

Satomi, a cute origami kimono doll, wears a black sakura kimono with golden yellow, orange, red, green, white, and grey patterns. The designs are accented in gold which shimmers in the light! She has two contrasting layers in green and rust near the neckline, all tied together with a muted red paper ribbon obi with lots of texture. A mulberry purple sakura flower graces her hair with two green ribbons.

This handmade chiyogami paper doll (warabe ningyo) is folded with chiyogami and washi paper. Satomi would look stunning in a scrapbook, or as an embellishment on a card or package. If you would prefer her as a refrigerator magnet, please indicate so in your order and I will attach one to her back.

She will arrive between two sheets of cardboard to keep her flat during shipping.

The name "Satomi" comes from the Japanese for 聡 (sato) "wise" combined with 美 (mi) "beautiful".
