Product Description:

The Sternocera aequisignata aka Jewel beetle is found in Thailand, India and Myanmar. They have a life cycle of up to two years, which only 3 or 4 weeks in adult stage. Many cultures use these wings for jewelry, clothing decorations and other pieces of artwork. The beautiful color effects are caused by the iridescence of the wings; the light reflects off of the wing in a way which we see the wings in beautiful colors, changing as we move them! Just gorgeous!

The wings are not taken off live beetles. They are harvested after a natural death (short life span). You can rest assured that there was no cruelty!

The wings are very strong and vary in size slightly. Wings are un-drilled. The shine does not wear out.
