Product Description:

Hand painted yarn, laceweight, fine mohair, classic red, bright scarlet 100g The base yarn for this is a skein of 80% fine mohair from the angora goat, and 20% acrylic. The acrylic strengthens the yarn (you do not want breaks in lace knitting) and reduces the risk of pilling, but at 80% natural fibre the yarn remains soft - nothing like the itchy sort of mohair some people remember from the 1980s!! I over dyed this one in a bright scarlet red and handpainted on a few darker crimson sections. The colours have blended to produce a very striking overall red - nothing shy or retiring about this one!
