Description

Hand painted yarn, laceweight, fine mohair, champagne palest apricot 100g
The base yarn for this is a skein of 80% fine mohair from the angora goat, and 20% acrylic. The acrylic strengthens the yarn (you do not want breaks in lace knitting) and reduces the risk of pilling, but at 80% natural fibre the yarn remains soft - nothing like the itchy sort of mohair some people remember from the 1980s!!
I hand painted this one in very soft shades of apricot, peach and palest lemon. These colours have combined to produce a delicate shade of pale apricot on a champagne base. The last picture gives an idea of the colour blocks, before the yarn was re-skeined. This yarn is subtly shaded. I am very pleased with the way the dyes have blended.
