Description
Hand painted yarn, laceweight, fine mohair, light lemon yellow 100g The base yarn for this is a skein of 80% fine mohair from the angora goat, and 20% acrylic. The acrylic strengthens the yarn (you do not want breaks in lace knitting) and reduces the risk of pilling, but at 80% natural fibre the yarn remains soft - nothing like the itchy sort of mohair some people remember from the 1980s!! I hand dyed this one in a soft shade of lemon yellow, then painted on some very faint highlights in lime green. These colours have merged to produce a delicate soft yellow. The last picture was taken before the yarn was re-skeined. This yarn is very subtly shaded. I am very pleased with the way the dyes have blended. I would use this one on fairly large needles to create an open, airy fabric - a delicate scarf or shawlette. http://www.etsy.com/shop/SpinningStreak?section_id=5307046 http://www.etsy.com/shop/SpinningStreak?ref=si_shop
