Product Description:

Hand painted yarn, laceweight, fine mohair, soft rose pale pink 100g The base yarn for this is a skein of 80% fine mohair from the angora goat, and 20% acrylic. The acrylic strengthens the yarn (you do not want breaks in lace knitting) and reduces the risk of pilling, but at 80% natural fibre the yarn remains soft - nothing like the itchy sort of mohair some people remember from the 1980s!! I hand dyed this one in two very soft shades of pale pink. These colours have combined to produce a very delicately shaded pale rose base. I am very pleased with the way the dyes have blended. I would normally go on to hand paint other shades on top - but sometimes it is good to know when to stop! I would use this one on fairly large needles to create an open, airy fabric - a delicate scarf or shawlette. It is a fine yarn - laceweight but not cobweb. See picture against a 1 inch ruler for better idea of gauge.
