A very pretty pincushion, carefully created from vintage table linen, and carefully rescued vintage lace, combined with new hand embroidery, using vintage flax floss, trimmed with a vintage button and finished with a hand crochet edging.
The top of the pincushion is cut from a vintage ecru table napkin. A cream, scalloped edged corner has been cut from a vintage table mat and appliqued to the linen. This corner has been hand embroidered with a rose motif using vintage floss. The applique has been edged with vintage lace, harvested from an antimacassar A vintage button provides further detail. The back of the pincushion is cream felt, produced from recycled plastic bottles. The top and back panel are blanket stitched together using an ecru crochet cotton. The same crochet cotton is used for a crocheted picot edging, into the blanket stitch, to complete the design.
