Product Description:

Fordite, also known as Detroit Agate or Motor Agate, is old car paint which has hardened sufficiently to be cut and polished. It was formed from the build-up of layers of paint on tracks when cars were hand spray-painted, which have been baked numerous times. This paint builds into layers and is now cut and fashioned and reproduced to make beads and pendants for jewellery.
