Description
This Dala horse is a OOAK needle felted sculpture. The pony stands 6 inches tall, and is 6 inches long, not including the braided tail. She is made from Merino wool.

<br />A Dalecarlian horse or Dala horse (Swedish: Dalahäst) is a traditional carved, painted wooden horse statuette originating in Swedish province Dalarna. In the old days the Dala horse was mostly used as a toy for children; in modern times it has become a symbol of Dalarna, as well as Sweden in general. These charming little horses were made from scraps of wood left over from the clock case industry.

<br />This wool version is made by combining needle and wet felting, and is "painted" with wisps of merino wool. She also has a braided tail that the traditional wooden versions were lacking.
