Handmade polymer clay heart pendant necklace, red and black pattern.
<br />I have made this heart pendant from polymer clay using a technique called Mokume Gane. It is made by layering two or more colours of polymer clay, in this case red, black and a slightly translucent dark pink. A pattern is impressed into the clay then the clay is carefully sliced thinly which reveals the underneath colours and the impressed pattern. A slice from the same pattern is applied to the back of the heart.
<br />The heart measures approx 4cms/1.5inches long and the same across it's widest point.
<br />It is topped with two Czech glass faceted rondelle beads, the larger red and the smaller black.
<br />The heart hangs a total of 6cms/2.25inches from a black satin cord necklace.
<br />The necklace measures approx 18.5inches/47cms and fastens with a sterling silver hook and loop clasp.
