ride and Prejudice, Mr Darcy's Proposal Jewelry Box, You Must Allow Me... , Keepsake Box, Jane AustenTaking inspiration from Jane Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice which was first published in 1813. As the book's name suggests, this tale deals with issues in the 19th Century of social standing, morality, marriage and love through the main characters;- intelligent, spirited and quick witted Elizabeth Bennet and of course the dashing Mr Darcy.
I have created a vintage styled shabby and chic keepsake box from a plain wooden box which has been painted in cream and distressed with bronze painted edges, sprinkles of gold glitter, hand stamped with Mr Darcy's proposal "You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you''. I have used a handwriting font and hand stamped the words and vintage images in black ink and added a complementary border design in a greyish tone. A faux half pearl cabchon has been added to the front of the lid.
