Recycled knit sari silk scarf warm soft jewel by SpinningStreak

Product Description:

This is a soft, colourful scarf that I knitted in an open ladder stitch design from recycled sari silk from Nepal. When I received the silk it was hard and twisted - apparently unusable, but I absolutely loved the jewel bright colours. So I washed it and put it back on my wheel to take out some of the twist - and the result is magic - soft, slightly fuzzy but retaining its glowing colours - turquoise and tangerine, but touches of rich red, pink, purple and emerald green as well. I knitted it with a hand dyed red and orange wool binder thread for added strength.
This one would really liven up a classic coat and is very cosy to wear. The photos make it look slightly wild - actually, it is quite well behaved and lies flat!
The scarf is a generous size - 82 inches long, including 5 inches of turquoise and tangerine fringe at either end, and approx. 6 inches wide.
