Product Description:

"Red and Orange Sunflower" Original acrylic painting on 8" x 10" x 7/8" canvas. The painting continues on to the sides of the canvas, so there is no need to frame. It is ready to hang!
I love sunflowers! They come in all shapes and sizes. I especially love the red ones. Although I often work with a photo reference, this particular flower is a product of my imagination.
For the flower petals, I applied multiple layers of pyrrole red, pyrrole red light and hansa yellow opaque. The center was rendered with burnt umber light, raw umber, and hansa yellow opaque. I used phthalo blue (green shade) mixed with varying amounts of titanium white for the blue background and sap green mixed with titanium white for the leaves.
