Sgraffito carved vase hand thrown pottery by firenfluxhandmade
Description
The vase was thrown on a potters wheel, then layers of colored slip were applied and carved through to form the pattern around the bottom half of the vase. This is called sgraffito. After firing the vase for the first time, the glazes were painted on by hand before it was fired a second time.
