Product Description:

These small sterling silver stud earrings were made by hand in my workshop. I set a well matched pair of small milky opal cabochons onto sterling silver backs using fine silver to form the bezel. The sterling silver posts were soldered on and the fasteners are sterling too. These stud earrings measure a little over 1cm at the widest point; that`s a bit under half an inch. They weigh 0.8 g (0.03 oz). The opals are good quality ones that I have upcycled from a rather badly designed pair of drop earrings that I have had for years. The original design was dated and the drops always twisted to show the reverse. I put them into this more modern setting and I believe that this shows off the opals well. These earrings have a slightly textured, natural finish which suits the nature of the stones. I like to leave marks of the making process on rather than polish to a bland overall shine. Supplied in a gift box.
