I love tattoos that tell the story of where we've been by depicting our deepest sorrows and soaring joys. Never liked the after-care ointments, though! Greasy, heavy, petroleum-based concoctions were a necessary evil, it seemed. I realized I could do better. As a soap-maker with an interest in the healing properties of plants, I set out to formulate a better tattoo-care product. Calendula and chickweed-infused olive oil are the base for my tattoo balm. Calendula has unique healing properties and chickweed is anti-inflammatory. Olive oil softens skin. Apricot kernel oil is readily absorbed into the skin and is beneficial for dry skin. Flax seed oil aids in cell regeneration. A dab of cocoa butter and beeswax round out my formula. An essential oil blend provides a slight fragrance as well as antiseptic action. My tattoo balm provides natural after-care for your latest tattoo and maintains older tattoos by keeping your skin hydrated.
