Product Description:

This wooden Centerpiece Dish/Bowl is a hand carved Maple Burl Cap. (Burl - a knot on the side of a tree containing beautiful dense, grain figuration).

This is a unique item, especially because every burl has different grain characteristics.

It is carved with chisels on a wood lathe for the purpose of holding change, jewelry, keys, food, etc.
The bark gives it a rustic look, so this can also be used as decoration to give a Barn-House type theme to your home. The live bark also, helps preserve the dish/bowl and make it more durable.

This burl was cut down by myself off a fallen tree. Carefully cut just for this carving.
