Handmade polymer clay earrings.
The focal beads for these earrings are handmade polymer clay discs in shades of aqua/turquoise and amber/orange.
They are teamed with lovely carnelian rondelle beads and hammered copper circles.
They dangle approx 2 inches/5cms from copper wires.
The sunburst pattern on the clay is made using a technique called Mokume Gane. This is done by first layering thin sheets of clay in several colours. A texture is impressed into the clay and then the raised areas are shaved carefully away, revealing the pattern in the deeper layers of clay. I have left a little of the texture on the surface of the clay.
