The piece pictured is called "Evolution" - The winding of the newspaper yarn is reminiscent of the helical structure of DNA. Other ideas inspiring this piece include the explosion of many species from a common ancestor, the common building blocks of life, the common basic body plan of so many life forms, the gradual introduction of small changes in DNA causing larger changes, and the evolution of consciousness, maths and geometry.
