Description
Hand painted yarn 100g. fine mohair laceweight soft mid pinks The base yarn for this is a skein of 80% fine mohair from the angora goat, and 20% acrylic. The acrylic strengthens the yarn (you do not want breaks in lace knitting) and reduces the risk of pilling, but at 80% natural fibre the yarn remains soft - nothing like the itchy sort of mohair some people remember from the 1980s!! I hand painted this one with touches of raspberry and peach on a mid pink base - subtle and delicate. I would use this one on fairly large needles to create an open, airy fabric - a summer scarf or shawlette. It is a fine yarn - lace weight but not cobweb. See picture against a 1 inch ruler for better idea of gauge. This is 1 fat skein, weighing 100 grams and 600 yards http://www.etsy.com/shop/SpinningStreak?section_id=5307046 http://www.etsy.com/shop/SpinningStreak?ref=si_shop
